Waicath

What is WaiCath?

Waicath (Waikato University Catholic Students) is a campus based society for students and staff at The University of Waikato.

Waicath aims to make Campus life more fulfilling for its members and friends.

We run social events (informal gatherings, BBQ's, occasional sporting activities, excursions) and social service activities to help out the campus and broader Hamilton communities.

Waicath works in conjunction with the Catholic Chaplaincy, located at the Lady Goodfellow Chapel on campus (opposite the Rec Centre).

Waicath also endeavours to encourage the intellectual life of its members with Seminars on current affairs and other topics of interest.

We promote prayer, friendship and provide opportunities for Catholics and non-Catholics alike to learn more about the Christian faith.

What can Waicath offer you?

Faith

Waicath can help you to know and understand your Christian faith so you can better put it into practice.

Mass is celebrated on Sundays at 5:00 pm, Mondays and Wednesdays at 12:10 pm in the Lady Goodfellow Chapel, with the Sacrament of Reconciliation available 30 minutes beforehand.

Interesting lectures, talks and service opportunities are also offered throughout the year to help you learn more about your Faith and live it out in your ordinary life!

Formation

Waicath organize occasional lectures about values, faith and reason, social issues and other topics of current interest.

Classes on Church teachings are also organized throughout the year.
